Edinburgh Wedding Photographer: Edinburgh Castle

Every year I photograph a few weddings at Edinburgh Castle.

Fiona was very keen to go with a relaxed style just capturing the feel of the day and not spending too long with the formal and group wedding photography.

I started the wedding photography with the bridal preparations at the Apex International Hotel at Edinburgh Grassmarket capturing the bits and pieces going on there before I headed off to Edinburgh Castle for the main event. This wedding was being held in St. Margaret’s Chapel, right at the top of Edinburgh Castle, interestingly this is the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh constructed in the 12th century. I can’t think of a better wedding venue than the oldest building in Edinburgh inside Edinburgh Castle itself!

After the ceremony we spent a little while taking some relaxed family groups and gave everyone a chance to have a chat and congratulate the bride and groom. I then stayed back for a few more photographs with Fiona and Tim while we let all the guests and family head down to the Apex International Hotel for the reception. After a few bride and groom photos we also headed back down to the hotel to meet up with all the guests again and carry on the celebrations.

It was a really great day and the sun shone for them, everybody seemed to be having a splendid time and it was a pleasure to be a small part of their day.
