Wedding Photographer: Dryburgh Abbey Wedding

   by admin May 24, 2014

I have photographed a few weddings at Dryburgh Abbey before and its a marvellous setting, however this is the first time I have been to Dryburgh Abbey Hotel. Its always nice to be photographing a wedding at a location I haven’t been to before, it seldom happens these days as over the years I have shot weddings at almost all the venues in the Edinburgh area, its makes me think about new shots and new angles I can use.

Dryburgh Abbey Hotel is set in stunning countryside and beautiful well tended grounds, its a short walk from the hotel to the banks of the river where you can get some lovely Bride and Groom photos. There is also a nice walk along the wall which divides the hotel grounds from Dryburgh Abbey itself, there is a nice little spot along this wall where you can get photos with the Abbey in the background without having to go into the Abbey grounds.

We also got some nice shots with the cherry blossoms that were out and the rhododendron bushes, we then got everyone outside for a big group photo in the shape of a heart! It takes a few minutes to set up but it can make a lovely shot and something a little different for your’e wedding album.

It was great to be a part of Joanne and Craig’s wedding, they were a really lovely couple, very easy going and just enjoyed the day with family and friends. I’m looking forward to getting all the finished photos over to them.
